Emergency services close busy A270 after multiple vehicles …
The A270 in Portslade[1] has been closed on Saturday afternoon (July 15) by Sussex Police following a multi-vehicle crash. The incident, which happened at around 2.40pm, saw a number of emergency services called to the scene, including Sussex firefighters.
The road has been closed in both directions with traffic being diverted away from the scene. Police, SECamb paramedics and the fire service all remain at the scene near Mayberry Garden Centre.
Traffic analytics company Inrix has said that traffic is queuing and building up in the area. They said: “A270 Old Shoreham Road in both directions partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident, three vehicles involved at Applesham Way.”
At the moment, no information has been given by Sussex Police on the nature of the incident. There is no indication how long the road will be blocked or closed for.
