Driver killed as car and lorry crash on busy road

A man has tragically died following a crash on a busy road. A car and lorry collided near Kings Bromley Marina[1] in Lichfield.

The smash happened on the A515 Lichfield Road just before 7am on Monday, July 17. An ambulance and two paramedic officers responded to the 999 call.

Medics said it “quickly became clear that the driver of the car could not be saved” and he was confirmed dead at the scene. No one else required treatment.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service[3] spokeswoman said: “On arrival, crews found a car and a lorry had been involved in a collision. Sadly, it quickly became clear that the driver of the car, a man, could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene. There were no other patients requiring assessment.”
