Driver in hospital with serious injuries from crash on Haslington …

A driver sustained serious injuries in a two-car collision that closed the Haslington by-pass yesterday evening. The A534 was closed between Crewe[1] and Sandbach yesterday following the crash.

Photographs taken by a bystander around 7.45pm show emergency services on the scene of the incident on the by-pass near the Maw Lane bridge, close to Haslington Cricket Club. The road has since been reopened.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: “At 7.12pm on Tuesday 25 July police were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A534 Haslington by-pass.

“The collision involved a Vauxhall Insignia and a Vauxhall Corsa. The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa was taken to hospital with injuries which are believed to be serious.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision but has not yet spoken to police should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via cheshire.police.uk/tell-us[3] quoting IML 1605155.”
