Driver arrested after stolen Ford Fiesta flips in police chase

A suspect was arrested and a large knife recovered after a police pursuit in Birmingham. Police said a Ford Fiesta had made off from officers before crashing in the street.

Cops spotted a grey-coloured vehicle which has been reported stolen. It was seen in a residential street in Erdington[1] - but as police pursued the car it crashed into street furniture shortly afterwards.

Police said a driver was held, while officers also recovered a large blade. Police inquiries continue.

Taking to Twitter, WMP Traffic posted: "We saw this stolen Ford Fiesta in Erdington which made off from us before crashing into street furniture almost immediately & rolling on its side. The driver was arrested where we also found his rather large knife tucked down his trouser leg."
