Delays of ‘at least 60 minutes’ on M1 near Bedford after collision

Motorists are warned of delays of at least an hour and over six miles of congestion after a collision on the M1 near Bedford[1] this morning (July 6).

Two lanes (lanes 1 and 2) of the southbound motorway have been closed between junction 12 (Flitwick and Woburn) and junction 13 (Milton Keynes[2] and Bedford). The closures were put in place after a two-vehicle collision at around 08:24 this morning.

The National Highways website stated: “A lorry and car are reported to be involved. Please take care on the approach to the scene.

“There are delays of at least 60 minutes above usual journey times between J12 and J13 with over 6 miles of congestion.”
