Cheshire Ferrari crash leaves newborn baby seriously hurt in hospital

A newborn baby and a Ferrari driver have been seriously injured in a crash near Runcorn.

The collision involving a Ferrari and a Ford Fiesta happened at the junction of the A558 Daresbury Expressway and Manor Park Avenue at 5.05pm on Friday (July 20). Cheshire Police said a three-week-old baby that had been travelling in the dark grey Ford Fiesta and a 34-year-old man who had been driving the dark grey Ferrari were taken to hospital following the incident.

The Ferrari was travelling along the A558 Daresbury Expressway from the Mersey Gateway direction and the Fiesta was joining the road from Manor Park Avenue when the collision occurred. The driver of the Ferrari and the baby are said to be in a serious condition.

Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have dashcam footage to get in touch with them. Sgt Andy Dennison from Cheshire Police said: “We’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or events leading up to it.

"The same goes for anyone with dashcam footage that may have captured events or prior driving of either vehicle leading up to the collision and the collision itself."
