Car facing wrong way on M53 after crashing with barrier
A car is facing the wrong way on the M53 after crashing into the central reservation.
Merseyside Police[1] and the North West Motorway Policing unit were called to the Wirral motorway[2], near junction four (Clatterbridge), at around 2.45pm on Monday, July 31, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found one white car facing the wrong way in the outside lane of the southbound carriageway after it crashed into the central reservation.
Officers have closed one lane of traffic while the car is recovered and debris in the road is removed. Merseyside Police[3] confirmed all occupants were out of the car and are not believed to have serious injuries.
Traffic is queuing back on the motorway while emergency services deal with the incident.
