Car crashes into bungalow after police chase through Chelmsford …
A police chase through Chelmsford on Friday morning ended when a car crashed into a bungalow. Officers from Essex Police were called to the A12 near Colchester at around 11am on Friday (June 30) following reports of a car driving dangerously.
The car, a black Ford Puma, was pursued after failing to stop for officers. The vehicle was chased into Chelmsford where it crashed into a property on Cramphorn Walk.
Essex Police say the car crashed into the building was at around 11.20am. The driver has been arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences.
Photos taken by EssexLive showed the vehicle as having crashed head-on into the building, narrowly avoiding a window on the property. As of 9pm on Friday, the vehicle remained on the site of the bungalow but surrounded by fencing and police tape.
The driver, a man, was taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries. He currently remains in custody.
A full statement issued by Essex Police said: “We were called to the A12 near Colchester at around 11am on Friday, 30 June following reports of a car driving dangerously. Officers pursued the vehicle, a Black Ford Puma, which failed to stop.
“The vehicle was involved in a collision with a building around 11:20am on Cramphorn Walk in Chelmsford. The driver has been arrested on suspicion of multiple driving offences. He remains in custody.”
