An 11-year-old boy has died in a horror crash between a car and a lorry.

The driver of the car, a man in his 40s, and a 15-year-old boy who was a passenger have been taken to Southampton[1] General Hospital with potentially life-changing injuries.

The black BMW was travelling on the A303 westbound from the Countess Roundabout towards Stonehenge when it crashed into a lorry parked in a layby at around 7.30pm yesterday.

The 11-year-old from London was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry was uninjured.

The other two victims are also from London.

The westbound carriageway of the A303 remains closed at this time.

The eastbound carriageway has reopened.

A/Insp Will Ayres of the Roads Policing Unit said: “This is a tragic incident where a young boy has lost his life and two more people are in a serious condition in hospital.

“Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who witnessed anything to please get in touch with us.”
