Biker in hospital after A40 crash in Gloucester

A motorcyclist was rushed to hospital after a crash in Gloucester[1] this afternoon (July 3). Emergency services were called to the A40 Northern Bypass at around 1.45pm.

Gloucestershire Police[2] said the collision, which involved a car and a motorcyclist, took place between the Innsworth roundabout and Elmbridge Court roundabout. The road was closed but reopened at around 2.40pm[3].

The force have confirmed that the motorbike rider was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance. Details of his injuries are not yet known.

A police statement said: "We were called to the A40 Northern Bypass in Gloucester shortly before 1.45pm following reports of a collision between a car and motorcyclist. A road closure was put into place between the Innsworth roundabout and Elmbridge Court roundabout before reopening shortly after 2.40pm.

"The rider of the motorbike was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance for his injuries to be assessed."
