A woman has been found with ‘neck injuries’ after armed police seized a crossbow. The casualty this afternoon remains in a ‘stable’ condition at the Royal Stoke University Hospital[1] following the incident.

Staffordshire Police[2] had been called to Chilton Street, in Heron Cross, in the early hours of Sunday, July 2. Now police have arrested a 57-year-old Stoke-on-Trent man as part of their investigations into the incident.

A police spokesman said: “We were called Chilton Street after someone reported seeing a crossbow. Firearms officers attended along with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service[3].

“Upon arrival, officers found a woman, in her 30s, with neck injuries. She was taken to hospital and her injuries were neither life-threatening nor life-changing. She remains in hospital in a stable condition.
