Repairs to the westbound carriageway of the A66 are set to be carried out from this weekend.

The work follows a major operation to remove a 40-tonne industrial vessel which had fallen onto the road from the back of a lorry.

The incident, on a bridge near the Shepherdson Way junction at North Ormesby, saw a section of carriageway closed for a week.

The huge gas heat exchanger was subsequently removed by crane, with a temporary repair in place to get the road open again.
