A20 closed after motorcyclist dies in crash – as it happened
A key road in Lenham was closed for most of Thursday after a motorcyclist was killed[1] in a rush hour crash with a lorry this morning (July 20). The biker, a man in his 30s, died at the scene.
Serious Collision Investigation officers are appealing for witnesses to the crash that happened at around 7.40am. A spokesperson for Kent Police said: “A red Honda motorcycle was travelling from Ashford towards Maidstone when it was involved in a collision with a red Iveco Trakker, that was being driven in the opposite direction. Police and ambulance crews attended and the motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
The incident on the A20 Ashford Road resulted in the closure of the road in both directions between Old Ashford Road and Faversham Road. The closure remained in place until 7.30pm.
