Witness describes terrifying incident at St James Market, Bradford …

A witness said the incident at St James Wholesale Market, off Wakefield Road, involved a group of people who allegedly damaged and chased the lorry.

Police have launched an investigation.

The witness said: “A lorry driver had all of his windows smashed by a pack of men chasing his 40-foot wagon around the market. 

“A pack of men chased the wagon around throwing pallets and smashing the windows of the vehicle as it tried to travel around the market.

“The wagon driver had to leave the site and get away from there before the mob got hold of him.

“I dread to think what would have happened to him had they got him.”

He said the police arrived after the incident.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire[1] Police said: “We are investigating a report of criminal damage of a vehicle at St James Market at around 6am this morning.

“Enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police quoting crime reference 13230362796.”
