William meets man he helped to save as air ambulance pilot

The Prince of Wales has been reunited with a man whose life he helped to save as an air ambulance pilot in East Anglia.

Jack Beeton was 17 when the van driven by his uncle collided with a two-tonne lorry on the A10 near Chittering, in Cambridgeshire, in 2015. Philip Beeton, 50, died at the scene and his nephew suffered life-changing injuries, spending 94 days in hospital.

Jack Beeton’s father, David, told an inquest how William, who was piloting the East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) helicopter that took him to hospital, gave the teenager oxygen as paramedics worked on him.
