Updates – Person hit by train forces rail lines to close in …
Rail services in Gloucestershire and surrounding counties are being delayed or cancelled after a person was hit by a train. National Rail and CrossCountry have both confirmed an emergency services incident is unfolding on the line between Cheltenham Spa and Birmingham New Street this evening (June 28).
While the messages do not state the exact reason behind the incident, passengers on board CrossCountry services have told GloucestershireLive that they have been told over the tannoy a person has been hit by a freight train. Passengers have reported services are either at "crawling" pace or have been stopped altogether.
National Rail says the incident has happened at Longbridge. It says all lines are closed and replacement road travel is running.
