Two-year-old girl and man dead after lorry and car crash

Two people have died, including a two-year-old girl, following a collision between a car and a lorry in a Lincolnshire village, police[1] have said. A man, 35, and a girl, 2, died in the crash on Main Road in Anwick[2], near Sleaford[3], on Saturday, June 18.

According to a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police, the pair were travelling in the same car, a blue Nissan Qashqai. He added: “Their family have been made aware and our thoughts are with them at this incredibly difficult time.”

Following the crash, which happened at around 2.45pm, motorists were asked to avoid the area while police dealt with the incident. A closure was put in place between Speedway Corner and the North Kesteven village.

The force is now appealing for witnesses and anyone who has dashcam footage from before or after the crash to get in touch. Anyone with information that may help in enquiries should contact the force control room quoting incident number 264 of 18 June.
