Teens aged 17 and 19 fighting for lives after horror Meltham crash
Two teenagers have been left fighting for their lives after a serious car crash at the weekend in Meltham.
West Yorkshire Police were called out to a red Vauxhall Astra having crashed at 5.50pm on Saturday (June 17), on Thick Hollins Road. Five people had been in the car travelling from Holmfirth towards Meltham.
It’s thought the car was approaching a downhill bend going right, when it hit a wall and then rolled several times down the hill. It came to rest on its wheels..
The five people inside the car were left trapped. The driver, 19, and a passenger in the back, 17, have been left with serious, life-threatening injuries.
An air ambulance took them to hospital. The other three went by road ambulance.
West Yorkshire Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision or seen the car before it/have video footage to get in touch. Call 101 and quote reference number 1543 of June 17.
