Teen motorcyclist in critical condition after crash in Hartshorne …

A teenage motorcyclist is in a critical condition in hospital after he was involved in a crash with a car in a South Derbyshire village. It took place at the junction of Woodville Road and Tower Road, in Hartshorne, near Swadlincote[1], just before 9.20pm last night (Saturday, June 17).

An 18-year-old man from Swadlincote was riding a green Benelli 125cc motorcycle when the serious collision[2] took place. The car involved was a white Ford Fiesta.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries, and he remains in a critical condition this afternoon (Sunday, June 18). His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers from Derbyshire police.[3]

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, in particular any drivers with dashcam footage that may be able to assist in our investigation.
