Rail travel disruption between Birmingham New Street & Lichfield …

Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised today (June 19)

Emergency services are dealing with an incident in Erdington[1] Railway Station which has caused the cross city line between Birmingham New Street and Lichfield Trent Valley today (June 19) to be blocked. West Midlands Railways shared the latest travel information on its website today (June 19).

British Transport Police told BirminghamWorld: “Officers were called to Erdington at 8.09am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”

Train services running through these stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised and the disruption is expected to last until around 11:15am.

Road transport will shuttle between Sutton Coldfield and Lichfield in both directions, valid ticket holders can also travel on NXWM bus service Between Sutton and Birmingham.

National Express Bus are accepting rail tickets between Birmingham New Street & Lichfield Trent Valley until further notice. The tickets will be accepted on these services : AG 11A, 11C, BC X14 PB 14, 65, 66, 67, 907, X3, X4, X5, WA, 6 , 77 , 77A. Rail replacement services are also being run.
