Power Cut Hits Harborough Villages After Truck Collides With Cables
Residents in two Harborough villages were left without electricity after a truck collided with an overhead power line.
Over 350 properties in Claybrooke Parva and Claybrooke Magna were affected by the outage, following the incident at around 4.30pm yesterday.
National Grid say the cables were brought down by a ‘grab lorry’ on land off the A5 near Wibtoft and engineers had to replace 200 metres of cable which was damaged.
The company says half the properties affected had power restored by 5.30pm and others by 9pm, although the final customers not re-connected until the early hours of today.
An investigation into the incident is on-going.
