Police hunt driver of silver Ford Fiesta after boy, 12, hit by car …
A young schoolboy has been left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Coventry[1]. It happened in Earlsdon[2] on Friday, June 2.
A large number of emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 3.30pm. A 12-year-old boy, who was riding a bicycle, was found in a serious condition on Broomfield Place.
He suffered potentially serious injuries and was quickly taken to University Hospital Coventry[3]. Officers have said that the schoolboy was hit by the driver of a silver Ford Fiesta[4].
A full investigation has now been launched by West Midlands Police[6]. Any witnesses have been urged to contact the force via Live Chat[7].
A spokesman for West Midlands Police[8] said: “We are appealing for information after a 12-year-old boy was hit by a car in Coventry[9]. Shortly after 3.30pm on June 2, the boy was riding his bicycle in Broomfield Place and was hit by the driver of a silver Ford Fiesta[10].
“He was taken to hospital and we are now looking to identify the driver of the car. If you were in the area at the time and saw anything, or if you have dashcam footage, please contact us via Live Chat[11] quoting log 2998 of June 2.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service[12] said: “We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a cyclist on Melbourne Road at 3.36pm on Friday, June 2. One ambulance and a paramedic officer attended the scene.
“On arrival, we discovered one patient, a boy, who was the cyclist. He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire[13].”
