Man’s body found at Peak District reservoir near Sheffield

The body of a man has been found a popular Peak District reservoir near Sheffield.[1][2]

Derbyshire Police confirmed that on Thursday, June 15, they discovered the body of a man at Ladybower Reservoir[3]. Although formal identification is yet to take place, it is believed the body is that of a man called Nicholas who went missing from nearby Chesterfield.

A spokesman for the force said: “A body has been found in connection with the search for missing Chesterfield man Nicholas. The body was found at Ladybower Reservoir in the Hope Valley on Thursday 15 June.

“Although formal identification is yet to take place the body is believed to be that of missing man Nicholas. Nicholas’s family are being supported by our officers.”

Ladybower Reservoir is a popular hiking and walking spot in the Upper Derwent Valley. It is located near the village of Bamford and is a 40-minute drive from Chesterfield.
