A MAN who died after being hit by a lorry on the M74 has been named. 

We previously reported [1]the 39-year-old died after he was struck by the vehicle near the on-ramp from Polmadie at Junction 1A at around 11.35pm on Saturday, June 3.

He has now been named as Ben Miller who lived in Glasgow.

In a statement released by Mr Miller’s family, they said they were “deeply shocked” by his death.

The statement said: “We are deeply shocked at Ben’s sudden passing.

“Ben leaves behind a close family and many loving friends, and we are very grateful for all the messages of love and support that we have received.

“We ask that our wishes for privacy at this difficult time are respected.”

Police said their thoughts are with Mr Miller’s family and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to get in touch.

Sergeant John Houston, of Glasgow Road Policing, said: “Our thoughts remain with Mr Miller’s family and friends at this time.

“We are continuing with our enquiries to establish the full circumstances surrounding the crash.

“I would like to speak to anyone who was in the area and may have seen what happened who hasn’t yet spoken to police to contact 101, quoting reference number 5187 of June 3, 2023.”
