Man in a van punched multiple times in terrifying incident outside Asda
A man has been subjected to a vicious assault through the window of his work van while it was parked outside Asda in Ellesmere Port[1].
The man was sitting in his van which was parked up in the car park of the Asda on Chester[2] Road in Ellesmere Port when the shocking incident occurred in broad daylight.
Cheshire Police said the victim suffered facial injuries after being punched multiple times through the window of his van. He was treated by paramedics on scene and taken to hospital.
Police said the victim has since been discharged. They added that a 32-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault. A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "At 3pm on Monday 26 June, police were called following reports of an assault in a supermarket car park on Chester Road. During the incident, a man had been sitting in his work van when he was punched multiple times through the window, causing facial injuries. "Paramedics attended and the injured man was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged. A 32-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 assault." PC Ryan Evans of the Area Investigation Team said: "This was a serious attack and our enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.
