Man found dead in Liversedge road after police called – statement

A man has sadly died in Liversedge[1] this morning.

West Yorkshire Police[2] received reports a man had been found on the Greenway in Liversedge, to the rear of Ripley Road, needing medical assistance at 7.22am on Monday (June 19).

Emergency services attended and the man was found to be unresponsive. He was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.

Police enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the man’s death and his identity. His death is not being treated as suspicious, police say.

A spokesman for the force said: “At 7.22am today (Monday) police received a report of a man needing medical assistance who had been found on the Greenway in Liversedge, to the rear of Ripley Road.

“Emergency services attended and the man was found to be unresponsive.

“He was sadly pronounced deceased a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the man’s death and his identity.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious.”
