Man due in court in connection with fatal crash involving elderly pedestrian

Man due in court in connection with fatal crash involving elderly pedestrian

A MAN is due to appear in court[1] in connection with a fatal crash involving an elderly pedestrian last year.

The crash involving a blue Vauxhall Zafira and a pedestrian at the junction of Heckford Road and Wimborne Road in Poole[2] at around Friday, June 24.

Following the incident, the pedestrian – a man aged in his 80s – was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The man died in hospital just days later on Monday, June 27.

Police say following a detailed investigation by the traffic[3] unit, 44-year-old Wayne Legg from Poole has been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 30.

He is due to appear for an offence of causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
