M5 traffic delays after lorry driver loses control and crashes
There are delays and heavy traffic on the M5 near Tiverton today (June 19) after a lorry driver lost control of their vehicle and skidded off the southbound carriageway[1]. A picture submitted by a SomersetLive reader shows a lorry at a right angle to the carriageway, appearing to block the hard shoulder.
According to roads traffic and monitoring service, Inrix, there is queueing traffic on the southbound carriageway between junction 27 for the A361 and junction 28 for the A373 Honiton Road, reports DevonLive[2]. One lane is closed.
Inrix reports: “Queueing traffic due to accident and restrictions on M5 Southbound from J27 A361 (Tiverton) to J28 A373 Honiton Road (Cullompton / Service Area).”
Devon and Cornwall Police have been approached for further information on this incident.
