M42 crash live as lanes closed with long delays
Long tailbacks are taking place on the M42[1] after crash caused lane closures. At around 6.30am, the smash took place on the southbound carriageway after Junction 10, Tamworth.
There are delays of around 45 minutes, with significant amount of congestion in the area, according to Google traffic maps. Queues are stretching all the way to the Leicestershire border, reports CoventryLive.[2]
The traffic monitoring site Inrix said: “Long delays, two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M42 Southbound after J10 A5 Watling Street (Tamworth). Camera shows lanes one and two (of two) are closed and traffic is using the hard shoulder to filter past.”
There are around six miles of queues around Junction 10, which is used to access the A5 Watling Street. A van and a lorry have reportedly been involved in the collision.
