M25 reopens after car and lorry crash near Wisley – recap

Two lanes of the M25 were shut in Surrey on Thursday (June 1) after a lorry and a car were involved in a crash near the Wisley Interchange. The incident happened on the anticlockwise carriageway at around 9.50am with congestion stretching back to junction 12 of the M3.

Onlookers also caused further delays clockwise, with traffic stretching back past the Cobham[1] services. No injuries were reported in the incident.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: “At 09.34am a two vehicle collision was reported to police between Junction 10 and Junction 11 of the M25 involving a car and a lorry. Neither party reported any injuries.”

“We received a call this morning around 09.55am to a report of an RTC on the M25 between junctions 11 and 10,” added a spokesperson for the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service[3].

“Three fire engines were sent, arriving at the scene around 10.15am. A car and a lorry had been involved in a collision. The incident was cleared and crews left the scene around 10.15am.”
