M20 traffic updates after crash between lorry and motorbike – recap

Motorists experienced delays on the M20 this afternoon (June 25) following a crash between a lorry and a motorbike. The collision caused miles of congestion on the west-bound side of the motorway from Junction 9 for the A20 Fougeres Way (Ashford) to Junction 8 for the A20 Ashford Road (Leeds Castle/Maidstone Services).

Two lanes were closed as a result. There were delays in the area, with around three miles of congestion while recovery was being arranged. All lanes have since reopened.

In a tweet, a National Highways spokesperson said: "All lanes are now OPEN on the M20 westbound between J9 Ashford and J8 #Maidstone[1] following an earlier collision involving an HGV and a motorcyclist."
