London Bridge Station indent: Borough High Street closed
The incident was first reported at around 9:30am according to AA Maps.
Metropolitan Police[1] and London Fire[2] Brigade have confirmed that they are both on the scene in response to the incident.
Met Police added that a cordon was put in place as a “precaution” whilst the issue is being dealt with, leading to a road closure on the A3 Borough High Street both ways between A200 Duke Street Hill and Bedale Street.
Currently 12 bus[3] routes are on diversion: the 17, 21, 35, 43, 47, 133, 141, 149, 343, 344, 381, 388 are all on diversion according to the TFL website.
A spokesperson for Network Rail has said that the road is currently being investigated for a potential cable fault in the Borough High Street area.
The road under the railway bridge is currently closed whilst the line is examined by an engineer team.
They added that train[4] services to and from London Bridge are currently running as normal, but advised passengers to check their journeys in advance before traveling.
A Network Rail spokesperson said: “Our team of engineers are currently investigating a potential cable fault in the Borough High Street area.
“The road under the railway bridge is currently closed while these examination works are taking place and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
“Train services to and from London Bridge station are currently running as normal. Rail passengers can check their journey in advance by visiting National Rail Enquiries.”
