Live updates as M56 closed as lorry overturns and catches fire
A lorry and car have crashed on the M56, which has caused the HGV to overturn and both vehicles to catch fire.
Cheshire Police and the fire service are currently responding to the incident on the M56 between junctions 9 (M6) and junction 10 (Stretton). An air ambulance has also landed at the scene.
The M56 is closed in both directions and traffic is queuing back for miles. National Highways is reporting "severe delays" and are asking people to consider taking a different route.
