Live M621 delays in Leeds as car fire blocks slip road near Elland Road stadium

A section of the M621 has been blocked off following a vehicle fire on the motorway. An exit on the eastbound carriageway has been blocked off due to the fire.

This is by junction two to the A643, Elland Road. As a result of the fire, congestion is currently building up on the road. This stretches to before junction one at Beeston and Farnley.

It is currently unclear how serious the fire is. It is also not know if anyone has been injured as a result.

The traffic management system, Inrix, said:: "M621 Eastbound exit slip road blocked, queueing traffic due to vehicle fire at J2 A643 (Elland Road). Congestion to before J1 (Beeston / Farnley)."
