Live: M5 traffic ‘at a standstill’ as fire crews tackle vehicle fire

Fire crews battled a vehicle fire on the M5 near Dursley. Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews were called out to the blaze at 6.32pm today (June 8).

One witness said traffic was "at a standstill" on the motorway at Dursley. The vehicle fire broke out between junction 13 and 14, not far from Michaelwood service station, according to a Gloucestershire Fire Service spokesperson.

The vehicle is reportedly on the hard shoulder, with multiple fire engines in attendance. Gloucestershire Police is also reportedly at the scene.

Traffic had cleared on the road by 8.20pm.
