Leeds train delays live as emergency services race to Cottingley …
A huge emergency services response has been seen in the area around Cottingley Station tonight after what is reported to have been a serious incident.
There has been widespread disruption across all rail services between Leeds and Dewsbury as a result of the ongoing response. Emergency services[1] were called to the scene on Cottingley Drive[2] shortly after 9.30pm on Friday (June 16).
It is reported locally that the incident is on the rail line itself. West Yorkshire Police, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue[3] are all reported to have attended at the scene.
Cllr Bailey Bradley wrote on Twitter: “My thoughts are with those involved at Cottingley tonight. If you’re using local services please make alternative arrangements whilst this very serious incident is taken care of. Thank you to the emergency services for their work here.”
A spokesperson for Transpennine Express wrote on social media: “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident between Leeds and Dewsbury, trains running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or diverted. Disruption is expected until 23:30.
“Services may be diverted and will not call at Dewsbury, rail replacement road transport has been requested to operate. Rail replacement road transport has been requested to operate between Leeds and Huddersfield calling at intermediate stations in both directions.”
