Hundreds of geese spotted take over quiet suburban street in Essex …
A huge gaggle of geese was spotted in a quiet suburban street in an Essex town last week. The large group of birds were seen on Canvey Island on Sunday morning, with more being spotted earlier in the week.
A picture posted by the Canvey Island Royal British Legion shows around 100 geese all together in a big bunch on the pavement surrounding two parked cars. And, earlier in the week, other residents saw lots of geese, including Claire North, who caught it on camera.
In a video, you can see the geese approaching up the drive of one house and around a car. There are so many birds it’s hard to even get through them at one point.
A family of geese is called a brood, but when multiple families join together they become known as a ‘gang brood’. If you come across more of these gaggles of geese on the streets in Essex, the best thing to do is to keep moving and not stop.
Especially when driving, the best thing to do is to slow down and give yourself lots of time to react, and not to swerve or break suddenly.
