Hull City sent clear transfer instruction ahead of crucial summer …
The people have spoken. Hundreds of Hull City fans have taken part in our transfer poll, with the window set to open for business on June 14.
Owner Acun Ilicali[1] has set his sights on a promotion push next season. The pressure will be on head coach Liam Rosenior to turn the Tigers[2] from a mid-table side into a team capable of challenging for a top-six finish.
Recruitment will be key to their chances of competing in the upper echelons of the division. And we asked City[3] supporters which position should be the priority in the transfer window. Sixty per cent believe say improving their options in the striker department has to be at the top of their summer shopping list.
With Aaron Connolly returning to Brighton and Hove Albion following his loan spell at the MKM Stadium and Benjamin Tetteh having been troubled by a number of injury problems, City could do with more attacking reinforcements to ease the goal-scoring burden on Oscar Estupinan. Rosenior’s side struggled to score goals on a consistent basis last term, hitting just 51 goals in 46 matches.
After bolstering their striker ranks, supporters think defence is the next area that needs to be addressed. Fourteen per cent want to see a new left back come in. The Tigers are a man down in this position after allowing Callum Elder to leave.
We also asked fans for their views on how many signings City need to make to push on next term. Thirty eight per cent of responses stated that five would be required. Twenty eight per cent plumped for six while 24 per cent feel four would be sufficient.
