Horsham: Police investigate as boy suffers life-threatening injuries

It followed an incident on Sunday afternoon after which police cordoned off a section of residential street.

The boy remains in a critical but stable condition.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to a road traffic incident in Woodgates Close, Horsham, shortly after 4.10pm on Sunday, June 18.

“A 16-month-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Police are investigating the circumstances of the incident and remain at the scene in Horsham while enquiries are conducted.”

Officers have taped off a section of the road and there are several police cars at the scene.

Investigations appeared to centre around a car outside one of the houses. It is currently unclear what took place.

Southern Rail said all lines from Horsham were closed due to an emergency incident response.

There was disruption from around 9pm in the evening until 9.40pm with multiple services delayed and cancelled.
