Family’s tribute to ‘incredible’ grandmother who died after being hit …
The devastated family of a grandmother who died after being hit by a lorry in a town centre have paid tribute to her. Angela Williams, 62, died after being struck by a lorry in Flint[1] on Monday, June 5.
Her grieving family said she was an “incredible” woman who had overcome “many obstacles” in her life. “The world just won’t be as fun without her,” they said.
Angela lived in the Flintshire[2] area for most of her life and spent the last few years living in Flint itself. On Monday she was walking through the town when she was hit by a lorry[3] on Church Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The HGV’s 37-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has since been released under investigation. North Wales Police[5] is continuing to appeal for witnesses.
In an emotional tribute, Angela’s family said: “She was kind and empathetic to people from all walks of life. She was a great mum and grandmother to her two sons and her grandson.
“We all loved her very much. We will miss her enormously and have learned so much from her. She will stay in our hearts forever.
“She was an incredible person who overcame many obstacles in her life, whilst being a support to others. She was such a positive presence in our family.
“Angela was popular in her local community and spoke highly of her friends. We would like to thank them all for making her feel welcome in Flint[6].
“The world just won’t be as fun without her. We are heartbroken and would like to be given privacy and time to grieve.”
