Eight miles of tailbacks on M5 after diesel spillage

There are delays on the M5 southbound in Somerset after a lorry collided with debris on the carriageway. The carriageway between junction 20 for Clevedon and junction 21 for Weston-Super-Mare has two lanes closed and traffic is building.

National Highways is reporting that there is a large diesel spillage from the lorry. Two lanes out of three are currently closed while the clean-up operation takes place.

National Highways for the South West is advising motorists to expect delays.
