E-scooter rider hospitalised after crash on Glasgow’s Duke Street
Police were called to Duke Street at around 7pm yesterday evening following a report of a crash involving an e-scooter and a car.
The male driver of the e-scooter was taken to hospital where his injuries are said to be serious but not life-threatening.
Officers said an investigation into the incident is underway.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
A Police Scotland[2] spokesperson said: "Around 7pm on Thursday, June 1, 2023, officers received a report of a crash involving an e-scooter and a car on Duke Street, Glasgow.
"The male driver of the e-scooter was taken to hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
"Enquiries into the crash remain ongoing and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course."
It comes as a man died after being struck by a lorry on the same road just hours earlier.
We previously reported[3] emergency services raced to Duke Street, near its junction with Bellfield Street, at around 10.40am yesterday morning following the incident.
A 44-year-old man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 1390 of June 1.
