A stretch of the M5 will be closed this weekend, resulting in a 22-mile diversion. The M5 will be shut in both directions between J19 (Gordano Services) and J21 (Weston-super-Mare) on Saturday (June 10) and Sunday (June 11) night due to vital electrical works.

The closure will be in place between 10pm and 5am.

Work is being carried out on the M5 by the National Grid as part of the Hinkley Connection projection. The work will deliver home grown low-carbon energy to six million homes and businesses across the South West.
