Truck crashes through the side of a building in Melbourne – with the driver rushed to hospital

A truck driver has been hospitalised after crashing into a two-storey building in Melbourne’s southeast.

The driver, believed to be a man in his 60s, was rushed to the Alfred Hospital following the crash at Engine Australia on Lonsdale St, Dandenong, at 6.46am on Wednesday.

The man was trapped in the cabin of truck for some time and needed to be cut out by emergency services.

He is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A heavy haulage team has been called to the scene to remove the truck from the shopfront.
