Officers also scrambled to the area after receiving reports of the one-vehicle smash at around 5.25pm.
When they arrived, they locked down a stretch of the busy road after discovering that the motor[3] was on the train tracks.
As a result, no trains were running along the busy route between Aberdeen and Stonehaven.
Two appliances from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service[4] were also deployed to the scene to help move the car to reopen the line.
They used processed-powered rescue equipment when assisting officers.
It is currently unclear if anyone has been injured as a result of the crash.
However, ambulances[5] have been spotted in the area alongside fire crews.
A Police Scotland[6] spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Wednesday, 21 2023, police were called to a report of a one-vehicle crash on Coast Road, Aberdeen.
