Cambridge house fire sees firefighters from across area called to …
Firefighters from across the area were called to a ‘well-developed’ house fire at a home in Cambridge. Emergency services were called to the incident on Fen Road, Chesterton at around 11.45pm on Saturday night (June 17).
The fire service spent around three hours at the scene before leaving shortly before 3am. The fire was confirmed to have started accidentally.
A Cambridgeshire[1] Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At 11.46pm on Saturday (17) crews from Cambridge, Cottenham and Cambourne, along with a water carrier from Newmarket[2] in Suffolk[3], were called to a fire on Fen Road in Chesterton, Cambridge. Firefighters arrived to find a well-developed fire involving a house. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire hose reels and a jet and cleared the smoke using a positive pressure ventilation fan.
“The crews returned to their stations by 2.50am. The cause of the fire was accidental.”
