Bradford to Keighley rail fare dodger must pay over ?700 | Bradford …
Imran Hussain, 21, of Belgrave Road, Keighley[1], was travelling from Bradford Forster Square to Keighley.
During this journey, on November 29, 2022, he produced a ticket which had a 16-25 Railcard discount applied.
The court documents state that when requested, Hussain was unable to produce the accompanying Railcard and said he was not carrying it.
Court documents add: "As he was unable to produce a valid ticket his details were requested and he was advised the facts would be reported.
"In providing details he gave his address easily but then seemed to struggle with his name and date of birth.
"During the subsequent discussions, the defendant put his hood up hiding his face and accused the conductor of being a paedo filming kids.
"He was asked to leave the train at the next stop, Frizinghall, rather than being able to continue his journey to Keighley."
He was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice, which remains unpaid.
Hussain was fined £440, ordered to pay £150 costs, a £176 victim surcharge and £3.80 compensation for the offence, totalling £769.80.
Hussain was sentenced in his absence at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court on June 12.
