Birmingham New Street trains delayed after signalling fault
A signalling fault has caused cancellations and delays to trains in and out of Birmingham New Street today. National Rail said several lines are disrupted.
The system fault is between Birmingham New Street and Derby. Trains may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or cancelled.
It is affecting trains between Penzance and Aberdeen, and between Plymouth and Glasgow, Central Edinburgh and between Cardiff Central and Nottingham.
In an update, National Rail posted: "A fault with the signalling system between Birmingham New Street and Derby means some lines are disrupted. As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or cancelled. This is expected until 17:00.
"Customer Advice: You can use your ticket on the following: Avanti West Coast are conveying passengers between London Euston and Birmingham New Street in both directions and also between Birmingham New Street and Edinburgh in that direction only.
"West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway via any reasonable route; East Midlands Railway via any reasonable route; Greater Anglia via any reasonable route and London Underground via any reasonable route."
