Biker suffers life-changing injuries in horror East Yorkshire crash

A man has suffered life-changing injuries in a motorbike crash in East Yorkshire. A black Honda motorbike was reportedly travelling down the B1253 High Street in Octon when it lost control.

The bike then left the road and came to a stop on the embankment, between Octon Grange Lane and Scarborough Road. A man was then taken to hospital for treatment on life-changing injuries. Humberside Police[1] have since launched an appeal for witnesses.

The B1253 was closed in both directions on Saturday, June 24, between Octon roundabout and Rudston, after the serious crash. Witnesses at the scene are thought to have helped to control traffic while waiting for emergency services to arrive.

A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "Officers are appealing for information following a single vehicle road traffic collision on the B1253 High Street, Octon, between Octon Grange Lane and Scarborough Road, at around 5.30pm on Saturday 24 June. A black Honda motorcycle was travelling eastbound towards Bridlington, when it is believed to have lost control and left the road, coming to a stop on the embankment.

"A man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are thought to be life changing. If anyone witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from around the time the incident occurred, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 534 of 24 June."
