Biker rushed to hospital after early morning crash

A biker was rushed to a major trauma centre with multiple injuries after an early morning crash in Warwickshire[1]. Medics found the motorbiker, who has not been identified, in a ditch off Banbury Road, Lighthorne at 7.10am this morning (June 1).

The Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was scrambled to the scene alongside two ambulances and a paramedic support office. After being assessed, a doctor from the air ambulance travelled with him to the University Hospital Coventry[2] and Warwickshire (UHCW)

Medics alerted the major trauma centre ahead of his arrival due to the extent of his injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS)[3] spokesman said: “When crews arrived they found the rider in a ditch with his motorbike damaged.

“The man was initially assessed by the ambulance crew before the doctor and critical car paramedic from the air ambulance arrived to assist in his treatment.

“His condition was stabilised before he was taken by ambulance to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire; the doctor travelled with the crew due to the seriousness of the man’s condition.”
